How do I know what level is best for my child?
- Look at the level 1 skill list under your age group.
- If your swimmer can do those skills easily, take a look at the skills for level 2.
- If your child cannot perform all of the level 2 skills, then you would know they belong in a level 1. **Your child needs to be able to perform the skills listed below “all of the time” in order to be in the level chosen.
*Remember that these are ENTRANCE SKILLS, not EXIT SKILLS. Your child needs to be able to do all of these things to BEGIN the level you are choosing.
*It is always better to start at a lower level and move up immediately as opposed to starting too high and missing the fundamentals of that level. Your swimmer may have many swimming skills, but submersions are of utmost importance when determining levels.
Baby/Toddler & Me Classes
Our certified infant and toddler instructors are educated on early development and water safety specifically for little ones! These classes are focused on educating both our parents and youngest swimmers on safety and foster a positive learning experience of swimming and water safety while spending quality time with your infant. Bath time is CRUCIAL practice time!
Baby/Toddler & Me 1
(ages 6 months +)
- Little to no formal lesson experience
- Not comfortable putting face in
- Does not independently choose to go under water
Baby/Toddler & Me 2
(ages 15 months +)
- Comfortable putting full face in
- Comfortable willingly going under water without assistance
- Comfortable floating on back with minimal assistance
Baby/Toddler & Me 3
(ages 30 months +)
- Is almost ready to transition away from parent and enter a class independently
- Is comfortable putting full face in
- Comfortable willingly going under water without assistance
- Comfortable floating on back with minimal assistance
If your child is under 3 years old and has surpassed all of the prerequisites for level 3, they may be eligible for our PreK/K2 class. Click here for our PreK/K class prerequisites If your child has not yet met level 2 prerequisites, register for a baby/toddler 3 class.
